By roasting our coffee in batches of 5 kilograms, we unleash the full potential of each bean. This ensures exceptional quality and a unique flavor experience in every cup. Each blend is only mixed after roasting at our roastery in Dudzele. This way, we preserve the individuality and unique characteristics of each bean. Before roasting, the beans undergo extensive testing based on density, humidity, and ambient temperature. This guarantees consistent and outstanding quality in every batch we produce.
At Matubu, we strive to work as closely as possible within the short supply chain. This is not only to support Flemish craftsmanship, but also because we believe in the entrepreneurial spirit and family approach that unites us all.
The short supply chain is the core value we're built upon. We strive to collaborate with Belgian makers and local partners to support our economy and promote sustainable trade. That's why we're loyal partners and label holders of 100% West Flanders and Handmadeinbrugge . This label ensures that the producer carries out all production processes on West Flemish soil.
Matubu Coffee aims to become completely carbon neutral. As a small coffee roastery, there's still work to be done, of course, but we're well on our way. We're currently doing our part by donating all our waste to stakeholders who reuse it. In addition, our polluting smoke and odor particles are removed during the roasting process using state-of-the-art electrostatic smoke filters. And last but not least, by working closely with our green coffee bean importer, both people and the environment are treated with respect throughout the entire life cycle of the coffee bean.
